If you had to choose between listening to your cousin talk about all the money he is making in crypto or setting your head on fire, which one sounds more appealing? I bet it’s close.
Hearing about crypto in nearly every email, podcast, and conversation with the mildly employed is getting old; I completely understand. You want to live your life and not hear about weird things you don’t understand. You get enough of that from your spouse already.
If this describes you, it’s time to hit the reset button. Crypto isn’t a fancy headline, a way for dumb people to lose their money faster than usual, or the latest social fad. Crypto is the foundation on which everything that will run your life in five years is built.
I’m not being dramatic. Crypto is a ticket to anywhere you want to go, and you might even need it to stay where you are.
You were promised that getting a college degree would be the key to your future and open any door.
You were lied to.
Crypto is the key that will open any door, and it’s $100,000 cheaper than a college degree. Fewer hangovers and walks of shame, too.
Let’s break crypto down into a few categories that you may actually care about.
This is why you love cryptocurrency.
It’s an Investment, for Real
Like anything cool, it’s only a matter of time until the uncool people show up. I don’t mean the crypto math nerds; the nerds are great. I’m referring to the people who focus on a tiny slice of what is going on and then start making YouTube videos with stupid titles.
These uncool people have forced you to tune out from all the fantastic things that are happening. We call them crypto traders. These are not investors; they gamble their allowance to have content for today’s video.
I would imagine these people are whom you associate cryptocurrency with. Please stop. These morons are the top 10% of the iceberg that you can see, making me question Darwin. The real action is below the surface, where the intelligent non-narcissists are changing the world.
In crypto, you can invest and make money over the long-term, just like in your 401(k) at work. It may seem impossible: if there are tens of thousands of cryptocurrencies, how can you keep your money safe with those kinds of odds? Which one do you buy?
Using that logic, if there are 8.7 million different species of animals on the planet, how do you know it is safe to have a pet? What if you pick one of the 8.7 million that is deadly to you?
Crypto is not different once you know how it works. There is a dog and cat (Ether and Bitcoin) and goldfish, parrots, hamsters, etc., for the more adventurous. You don’t need 8.7 million options; you need five.
There are also places to stick your head in an alligator, and I will show you how to avoid those.
The Future of Everything
Is there anything that isn’t the next big thing these days? It seems like every new technology or hipster startup will change the world, but somehow it never does. Fair point. But I think we would all agree that the internet did change the world.
Crypto is like the internet but on steroids. Then multiply by 8.7 million. Sorry for the high-level math, but you get the point.
Crypto, and more specifically blockchain technology, will drive everything you touch in the future. Banking, investing, lending, borrowing, gambling, and countless other financial activities are already moving onto the blockchain.
It goes way beyond that, however. Accounting systems, your high school and college transcripts, your resume, your medical records, your…anything. There is very little that won’t be stored in a blockchain.
You don’t need to understand how things are stored on a blockchain, only why. I will walk you through why these things are happening.
This is Happening Today
If I can convince you to make one change in your thinking, it’s this: crypto is not changing the world soon; it’s changing the world right now. Not after a, b, or c happens, but right this second.
Here is a very brief, very incomplete list of things you can do today:
Access your money 24/7/365 without anyone’s permission
Borrow against your crypto and take out a loan at 0% interest
Take out a loan you don’t need to pay back
Buy insurance on your crypto that protects against hacks
Get paid in real dollars for helping a crypto organization
Make money for playing games (I know, but still)
Deposit your paycheck into crypto
Make payments to anyone in the world, in complete privacy
Again, you don’t need to know how to do these things yet, only why it’s essential. I want you to see that crypto is the system to control your money, manage your time, and control your labor. We are increasingly finding out we have less control over those three items than we thought we did.

I know crypto is scary, and it’s mostly the weirdos in your life that talk about it. But for the first time in their life, they’re onto something. They just don’t know how to do it intelligently yet.
I do, and we’ll go through it step-by-step.
I know these crypto conversations are hard but look on the bright side: the weirdos who bore you with the latest coin you just have to know about are no longer cornering you for a conversation about their fantasy football team.
Who said crypto couldn’t make the world a better place?
