About Steve Larsen and the Newsletter

Introduction

Hello! I’m Steve Larsen, CPA, CFP®, and CDAA.

I started this newsletter as a platform to explore and discuss the convoluted topics of finances, investing, privacy, and parenting. I'm here to share my journey openly, mistakes included, to help you avoid them and have a laugh at my expense.

Background and Motivation

Life has thrown its fair share of challenges my way, from navigating the ups and downs of financial planning to tackling the intricacies of digital privacy and parenting. Each challenge has taught me lessons that are too valuable to keep to myself. After stepping back from my role as a financial planner, where face-to-face interactions were the norm, I found solitude and clarity in writing. This newsletter is my outlet and bridge to you, where I turn my past missteps and victories into shared learning opportunities.

Content Focus

These newsletters blend reflection and analysis across various life domains. While I touch on finances and investing, the content is far from your typical advisory. It's a mix of personal essays and thoughtful examinations of everyday challenges. Inspired by one of my favorite quotes, "Clear writing equals clear thinking," I strive to bring clarity to my thoughts and, hopefully, yours.

Engagement and Community

Your insights and experiences breathe life into this page. I encourage every reader to respond, share their thoughts, ask questions, and challenge the presented ideas. This interaction enriches our community, providing a wealth of perspectives that can help all of us grow.
